Welcome to South Mississippi Linux Users Group

SMLUG is a group of computer and technology enthusiasts that meets once a month to promote the free and open philosophy and to share ideas and knowledge. Linux is a free and open source operating system developed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). The GNU General Public License is intended to guarantee your freedom to share and change all versions of a program and to make sure it remains free software for all its users. If you have an interest in learning Linux as a career, or just for personal use, attend the next meeting to find out what the group has to offer.

What's happening at the meetings?

The SMLUG will be holding open discussions on Linux, free, and open source related topics. Member's are encouraged to share topics and projects, if possible a short hands-on demo would be informative and welcomed. Our meetings are free and open to public. The SMLUG will be resuming its meetings for 2020.

For the February meeting a challenge has been issued to the LUG to design a new logo to be used on the website. Try using the tools available to you on your favorite distro. A few of the tools you can use are Inkscape, GIMP, Krita, or LibreOffice Draw are just a few examples. When designing your logo consider making something that describes who we are and what we do. Show everyone your creativity.
